EXCLUSIVE: Budo FC vs Aspera FC. It’s on.

Back on July 9th 2016, Addicted OTR exclusively revealed that Budo Fighting Championships had partnered with Brazilian juggernauts Aspera FC. We followed this up on January 16th with the next step in the partnership; confirmation that Budo would be going to Brazil this year. Today we can confirm the next development step in the partnership; Aspera are coming to England, and we know when!

The date has been set for August 27th, with Budo’s ancesteral home of Bolton slated as the venue. The event will be a team vs team format, with a team of Brazilians flying over to face the best of the British Isles. Only this weekend MMAFighting.com revealed that Aspera announced the signing of 18-fight UFC veteran Thiago Tavares on a multi-fight deal, further confirming the level of competitor showing on the Brazilian shows. UK fans, you won’t want to miss this.

Budo CEO Chris Clarke told us:

“I’m delighted to be working with one of Brazil’s biggest promotions. This show is only the beginning and with our Brazilian co-promotion scheduled for later on in 2017, we’re looking to build a foundation to progress each brand in opposing countries. We’re hoping to put together a massive card to create our biggest ever Bolton show and considering we’ve had so many great shows over the years, we’ll be putting a lot of work into this”.

“More details will be released in the next few months as we approach the date so please stay tuned if you want to get involved and put yourself into the mix for a spot on the Brazilian card”.

Budo FC has been in existence since March 2011. Establishing itself as one of the top shows in the North West, the promotion first spread its wings to Newcastle in 2014, gaining a firm foothold in the North East of England too. Fast forward to 2017 and the promotion has elevated itself into the upper echelons of the UK scene, scheduling 15 events in 12 calendar months, across England, Scotland and Wales. The Aspera deal doesn’t just make them an international promotion, they’re now spreading their wings to a second continent. With further innovations coming soon, Budo is one of the shows you truly want to keep an eye on.
