When I go to an MMA event, one of my favourite things is enjoying a fight that’s slipped under the radar. A bout that no one has thought about, which ends up being an absolute banger. Well, I’m going to be an arse and tell you about the one that could easily fit that mound on WFS 7.
Standing across the cage from each other on March 25th will be Rob Harris and Rees Kenny. I first saw Harris on the first Rise Of Champions back in 2015. Team Titan athlete Harris faced Javid Basharat. Although he didn’t get the result that night, he showed us all that he’s an absolute beast. Strength, aggression, determination, tidy boxing, a decent ground game, constant forward pressure; this guy is one exciting fighter to watch.
Rees Kenny suffers with the same affliction. He’s incapable of taking a backward step, as proven in his four amateur bouts to date, and doesn’t seem to understand the concept of quitting, ever. Making his first appearance away from the south coast, the Andy Roberts BJJ student will be desperate to get back in the win column after back-to-back defeats against Adam Amarasinghe and Anton Defreitas.
Warrior Fight Series 7 takes place on March 25 at York Hall, Bethnal Green. A limited number of balcony tickets are available for purchase. Visit wfsmma.com to get yours.
