ACB 47 – Braveheart: Robert Whiteford, Saul Rogers & Full Fight Card Preview

The third biggest mixed martial art’s organisation ACB (Absolute Championship Berkut) is making it’s first appearance; possibly one of many, in it’s forty-seventh installment in the UK at the SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland. So, what can we expect? We can expect a thunderous night of action with some of the top fighters that currently grace the canvas within the UK.

Budo to introduce new weight divisions

budoBudo Fighting Championships recently announced the introduction of mandatory blood tests from June 1.

In addition to this, promoter Chris Clarke has also taken the unique step of allowing competitors further weight divisions. Effective from June, Budo will actively host fights outside the standard weight categories, if and when they are required.  Continue reading

Shinobi War 7 card update

Shinobi MMAShinobi MMA FC has released several additions to the card for Shinobi War 7 on April 30. Earlier in March, the Liverpool-based promotion announced a title defence for Manny Akpan, who defends his Featherweight belt against Jordan Barton. Akpan (5-0) took home the gold at Shinobi War 5 last year, TKOing BJJ standout Ben Royle. Barton (4-1) is a four-time veteran of the promotion and is unbeaten since losing to Bobby Pallett at Lightweight at Shinobi War 1.

Freakshow and Sniper talk BAMMA 25 clash

BAMMA 25 is fast approaching. With just over a month to go until arguably one of the biggest cards the promotion has put together takes place in Birmingham. On the night, no less than four champions will be putting their gold on the line.

Bantamweight champion Shay Walsh will do battle against the 145lbs champion and JacksonWink’s MMA product Tom Duquesnoy. Lightweight champion Martin Stapleton will duke it out with Damien Lapilus, who made waves last time round by submitting hot prospect Jack McGann in the first round. BAMMA Heavyweight kingpin Mark Godbeer will be hoping to fire at all cylinders against the current Lonsdale Heavyweight Champion Stuart Austin and finally, the undefeated Lonsdale Champion at 155lbs, Marc Diakiese, will be making his second title defence against another undefeated fighter in Kane Mousah – a fight with a lot of animosity in the build-up.  Continue reading

BUDO 13 : Full Results

12341599_1021224177934832_2865888160298082066_nBudo Fighting Championships returned to the Holiday Inn, Bolton for Budo 13. HAMMA stand out Beau Gavin was forced to withdraw following recent IMMAF trials and a K1 bout so he will not face Predators undefeated Shoaib Yousaf. Yousaf instead faced Callum McDonald for the interim Title.

Now 11-2, Brendan is coming off an emphatic first round knockout win over former UFC Fighter Dave Lee (12-10) at Full Contact Contender 15 on 5th March 2016, though Dave Lee has had a lengthy lay-off you can’t take away the show stopping performance that was put in by Loughnane. Dave is a well-known submission specialist with all 12 wins coming via Submission, Brendan was able to execute pin-point striking, along with added power to crumble his opponent onto the canvas in devastating fashion and walk away with the FCC British Lightweight Title still firmly strapped around his waist.

Warrior Fight Series 5: The Review

Inspiring words from a lesser qualified philosopher; but nonetheless, words that ring true as adversity has been the name of the game for Warrior Fight Series this week. The promotion has had to deal with injuries, illness, missed weight and even a clear lack of interest to fight in the immediate build up to their fifth event, as the original fight card got decimated by a series of uncontrollable events.
